Rosalia Vila Tobella[2] (born 25 September 1992),[3] known mononymously as Rosalia (Spanish: [rosa'li.a], Catalan: [ruz@'li.@]),[4][5][6] is a Spanish singer. Her family was in Barcelona and has been described as an "atypical pop star" due to her many musical styles. When she was enthralled by Spanish folk music as a child of thirteen, she studied musicology at the Catalonia College of Music while playing at music bars and weddings.She was able to complete her studies with honors by virtue of her cover album that she co-produced together with Raul Refree in Los Angeles (2017), and the baccalaureate project El Mal Querer (2018). The album combines flamenco with hip-hop and pop the album produced "Malamente" (single) as well as "Pienso en tu Mira (single). Both singles were a huge success and were praised by critics across the world. El Mal Querer, who was awarded the Latin Grammy Award as Album of the Year, and was listed in Rolling stone's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time, started Rosalia's rise into the international music scene. Rosalia's 2019 albums "Con Altura" (13) and "Yo Ti Tu x Mi" (12-13) were pioneers in urban music and achieved global success. The third studio album she released, Motomami (2022) provided reggaeton with an innovative sound that was different from the traditional flamenco-inspired style. It featured two singles "La Fama"" and "Saoko", the album was a hit worldwide and was deemed to be the most well-reviewed album of the year by Metacritic. Rosalia has scored ten top-ten singles throughout her career in her native country. It's the highest number for an artist from that region. Rosalia has also been awarded two Grammy Awards, eleven Latin Grammy Awards (including two Album of the Year awards) as well as four MTV Video Music Awards, an MTV Europe Music Award, three UK Music Video Awards and two Premio Ruido awards, among other things. Billboard presented her with the Rising Star Award in 2019 for "changing the music scene of today with her flamenco-inspired pop"[1818. She was also the first Latino-singing artist to be nominated for the Grammys for Best New Artist. Rosalia was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Cugat del Valles and raised in Sant Esteve Sesrovires,[20][21][22] Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. Born in a family with no artistic experience She is the youngest daughter of Pilar Tobella, a businesswoman who owns a small company that specializes in metalwork. Jose Manuel Vila, her father, was born in Cudillero. They separated in the year 2019. [23] She has an older sister, Pilar "Pili" Vila (born 1989) and works with Rosalia as her stylist and creative director. Rosalia showed an interest in performing arts from a young age, and particularly after discovering the discography of Camaron de la Isla. In the Taller de Musics, she started her musical training. She completed a six-year program at the academy. She started attending classes at the Raval school and later moved to the Superior School of Music of Catalonia. Also, she worked independently as a singer at weddings, music bars, as well as other events. She received "a little over 80 euro or in exchange for a meal".
